Pirupa with new material, and it's sounds real raw, I for one mos def dig where the Italian house maestro is heading soundwise lately, ya'll should to.
Our homies in the Discobelle-crew drops a new, massive Disco Of Doom-EP on their label. Pure, pounding dance music for a lively floor, with a true gem of a remix from Wool.
Incredibly groovy, refreshingly stripped down in it's production and with a slick disco vibe going for it. This would easily fit into any late 70's exploitation flick. I think we have our first awesome album of the year.
I quite enjoyed Justice's second album Audio, Video, Disco. As a sum of it's parts it was a nice piece of electro rock, with a dash of italo. With that said, "On'n'On" wasn't one of my favourites. But man has living legend Rick Rubin improved it. This one has got some serious funk!
Immersed Audio:
"Really feeling this one, especialy Turnit, will be supporing."
Orphans STHLM:
"Fantastic music! No doubt, Cruncher is the star on this one."
Ducks on Repeat:
"Feeling Cruncher the most! Nice one."
About:
It was late 2001, mid november, when the snoozing phenomenon exploded globally. German-born with a spanish mother, raised in the tradition of the siesta, young scientist Fernando Schnoose invented a simple yet mindblowing technique that alowed people to prolong the wake up call on their cellphone clocks by any given number of minutes, and the excellency of it all? This advanced maneuver was executed with a simple touch of the finger - the young Fernando named the technique by his own last name, he called it "Snooze".
This affected society in ways no one could have predicted. People showed up late for work, if at all, trains stopped running, air planes remained on the ground. Man was no longer subdued by the unmerciful alarm of their clocks in the morning. The world economy dived like a bird without wings to the depths of the ocean. Governements where in panic. Everyone was snoozing, enjoying sleep, ignoring their duties.
Only when the U.N, the world leaders in common despair, begged Fernando to invent a way to controll this beast, he modified it. When the world was at the brink of total collapse, Fernando locked himself in his techlab for thirty straight days, barely sleeping, working on a cure for this diabolical invention. The ten minute limit was applied to the advanced Snoozing mechanism in march 2002.
Some ten years later, this very phenomenon would influence a young Swedish mucisian to compose music, with the "Snooze"-phenomenon as the main source of inspiration.
This one has been making the bloggrounds for the last weeks, and for good reason. What you're hearing is Boys Noize and Mr. Oizo (referred to by some as Mr. Boizo) fucking shit up. Great stuff.
Been waiting some time for a new Leonardus release. The preview of the ducthman's next ep is up and it sounds like something that will quickly make it's way inte Orphan sets. Lovley!
One of the best things about 2012 has been discovering a bunch of dope new labels putting out amazing music.
Among all these new fantastic labels, I think i just found my favourite. Steyoyoke just mailed us about, well themselves, and after checking them out, I'm absolutely stunned.
They're Berlin based, and their first release is a magic three track EP by I'm Fine & Antonio Olivieri. This is why I love it: it combines some rather haunting deep vibes with a sublime speakeasy trip, a truly rare combo. Super dancy, yet equally smart.
I'll surely play Your Ghost a million times in my sets the coming months. And I'll follow Steyoyoke reeeal close the next year.
Swedish dj-talent, whom you could probably call a veteran in the game by now, La Fleur, drops a winter mix filled with nice grooves. Well worth checking out, nicely mixed and tightly put together, as you'd expect with La Fleur at the decks!
Speaking frankly, the cover for this release looks like someone ate a bunch of explotation filmposters and shat them out. The music though, makes up for it with some delicious house and techno cuts. Yummy.
If you like classic house music your more or less obligated to at least check out Kevin Saunderson’s upcoming compilation In The House, his first club mix compilation since 1996.
Made to Play start of 2012 in big style. The originals are, well original in a most awesome way. And the remixes blow me away. Case in point: check out Prince Clubs techno version.
While we love when people like Worthy decide to share a free track with everybody, we have absolutley no problem with paying for them when they're as good as this gem, coming out later this month on Dirtybird.
Don't know so much about this one. The release is TBA:ed, and the catalog number is BRNSN.003. But man, does it sound like a winner. Can't wait for this one.
The original track is one of thoose that I feel compelled to squeeze in as often as possible. Sometimes even multiple times during the sam set, swicthing between the original and the dub, hoping that no one will notice. It's THAT good. While I have been skeptical that any remix of this gem would top the original, Dimitri From Paris version certainly gives it a run for it's money. This one just oozes HAUS through the pores.
Label friend and all around good guy Chris Mojek, posted this gem just hours ago. It's from 2010, but was lost to him for some time. Now he's found it again and thought he'd share it with everyone.
Klasse has quickly become one of my absolute favourite labels, and this new release by Viadrina is just as good as we're used to.
Soulful, deep, powerful well produced. I simply could not ask for more - will play inmy next set, without any doubt. Especially pay attention to the Florian Blauensteiner remix, delicious!
And folks, buy it when it drops, the 24th of january!
