Without a doubt, this is the coolest video I've seen in a long time. Beautiful cinematography and scenography that puts you in the right frame of mind; the bleak future outlook of 70:s/80:s sci-fi romps. The costumes, the sets, the plastic props, the vector computer graphics. It just has the right "feel", for a lack of a better word. Even the lens flares are spot on.
Every cynic knew that the world would be a dark place in the year of our lord 1997. Sports as we know them would replaced by violent spectacles to distract the growing population from everyday problems (some would probably argue that this is indeed the case today). And don't get me started on the penial system. Let's just say the streets of Manhattan aren't safe unless you're packing a baseball bat wrapped in barbed wire. But hey, over at MegaSuperCorp Inc. it's business as usual. Just don't ask what they put in those food cans.
The letterbox format is just icing on the cake and the Snake Plisken lookalike doesn't hurt either.
